About the Brand
What does Mambora mean? ▾
Mambora comes from Dagbani, a language spoken in northern Ghana. It means “desired” — something longed for and worthy of being wanted. We chose it because we believe that every woman, and every product we make, should be truly worthy of that word.
What is Circle of Pearls? ▾
Mambora is the trading name of Circle of Pearls Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (Company No. 16431782). The name reflects our belief that every person in our supply chain — from the women in northern Ghana who produce our shea butter, to the founder, to the customer — is a pearl. Each one overcoming something. Each one contributing something beautiful. Forming a circle.
Are you a social enterprise? ▾
Yes. A meaningful portion of every sale supports the cooperative of 103 women in northern Ghana who handcraft the raw shea butter used in our Magnesium Butter range and Raw Shea Butter. We are working toward formal social enterprise certification and will update customers as this progresses.
Where are you based? ▾
We are based in London, United Kingdom. Our registered office is at 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ. The founder has fourteen years of experience formulating and running a botanical beauty business in Ghana before bringing Mambora to the UK.
What are your working hours? ▾
We are available Monday to Friday, 9:30am to 4:00pm. We aim to respond to all enquiries within one working day. Orders placed after 4pm on Friday will be processed the following Monday.
About the Products
Are your products vegan? ▾
Yes, all Mambora products are vegan and contain no animal-derived ingredients.
Are your products all natural? ▾
We use natural origin and thoughtfully selected ingredients chosen for performance. Some products in our range use natural origin ingredients; others may include nature-identical or carefully selected additional ingredients where they serve a clear purpose. We do not make blanket “100% natural” claims — because honest formulation sometimes requires more nuance than that. What we do promise is that every ingredient earns its place and nothing is added without purpose. Full ingredient lists (INCI) are available on each product label and listing.
Where is the shea butter sourced? ▾
The shea butter in our Magnesium Recovery Butter, Magnesium Sleep Butter and Raw Shea Butter 500g is sourced directly from a cooperative of 103 women in northern Ghana. It is unrefined, unprocessed and ethically traded. The shea in our Whipped Body Butter range is also included in our formulations — we will update customers as we confirm the full traceability of that supply chain.
Do you test on animals? ▾
Never. Mambora is proudly cruelty-free. No Mambora product or ingredient is tested on animals.
Are the products safe for sensitive skin? ▾
Our Fragrance Free Body Butter is specifically formulated for sensitive skin and contains no added fragrance. All products carry full INCI ingredient lists on their labels. We always recommend a patch test before first use. If you have a specific skin condition, allergy or concern, please consult your GP or dermatologist before use.
Are the products safe for children or babies? ▾
The Raw Shea Butter and Fragrance Free Body Butter are gentle formulations, but we recommend consulting your GP before using any skincare product on young children or babies, particularly those with skin conditions or sensitivities.
What size are the Magnesium Butters? ▾
The Magnesium Recovery Butter and Magnesium Sleep Butter both come in 60g amber glass jars with gold lids. The Whipped Body Butters come in 350g white plastic jars. The Raw Shea Butter comes in a 500g white tub.
Orders & Delivery
How long does delivery take? ▾
Standard UK delivery is 3 to 5 working days from the date your order is dispatched. Orders are processed Monday to Friday, 9:30am to 4pm. Orders placed after 4pm on Friday will be processed the following Monday.
Do you offer gift wrapping? ▾
Yes — select gift wrapping at checkout for a beautifully presented product. Ideal for birthdays, new mothers, wellness gifts and special occasions.
Can I change or cancel my order? ▾
Please contact us at info@mambora.co.uk within 24 hours of placing your order and we will do our best to accommodate any changes. After this window, orders may already be in production or dispatch and we cannot guarantee changes can be made.
My order arrived damaged — what do I do? ▾
We are sorry to hear this. Please email us at info@mambora.co.uk within 48 hours of receiving your order, with a photo of the damaged item and your order number. We will resolve this for you promptly.
Returns & Refunds
What is your returns policy? ▾
We accept returns of unopened, unused products within 14 days of delivery. Please see our full Returns & Refund Policy for details on how to initiate a return.
Can I return an opened product? ▾
For hygiene reasons we are unable to accept returns of opened cosmetic products unless the item is faulty or not as described. If you have any concerns about a product you have received, please contact us and we will always do our best to help.
Wholesale & Bespoke
Do you offer wholesale? ▾
Yes — we welcome wholesale enquiries from retailers, spas, gift shops and aligned businesses. Please complete our wholesale enquiry form and we will be in touch within two working days.
Do you make bespoke or souvenir products? ▾
Yes. We create custom souvenir whipped shea butters for events, corporate gifting and brand collaborations. Minimum order is 20 pieces. Lead time is two weeks from confirmed order. Contact us at info@mambora.co.uk to discuss your requirements.
